Apple confirms WWDC26 dates and teases AI advancements

Apple’s WWDC26 keynote is on June 8, and in this year’s date announcement, Apple said the conference will highlight AI advancements, which is not the kind of phrase it drops into these announcements by accident. WWDC date reveals are usually straightforward. This one felt like Apple planting a marker.

The company wants June to be read as another step forward for Apple Intelligence, not just the parade of annual updates . The event runs from June 8th to June 12th, with an in-person opening-day event at Apple Park.

That puts a lot more weight on those two words than Apple might like. The company is walking into WWDC with some unfinished promises still hanging in the air, especially around Siri. Apple’s own Apple Intelligence page still says features like onscreen awareness, personal context, and actions across apps are in development. They are the features that were supposed to make Siri on par with competition.

Apple did ship new Apple Intelligence features at WWDC25, including Live Translation, visual intelligence updates, deeper Shortcuts integration, and developer access to the on-device foundation model behind Apple Intelligence. And in January, Apple and Google also announced a multi-year collaboration under which the next generation of Apple Foundation Models will be based on Google’s Gemini models

Apple and Google said those models will help power future Apple Intelligence features, including a more personalized Siri this year.
